Daytona Beach
Spring breakers and vacationers have been congregating at Daytona Beach for more than a century. With great real estate investment opportunities, great racing entertainment and phenomenal beaches, it's not hard to figure out why. And that's not even all Daytona Beach has to offer!
There are many communities surrounding Daytona Beach. Two of these are Ormond-by-the-Sea and Ormond Beach located on the north side of the Daytona Beach area. Ormond Beach boasts attractions like the Casements and Tomoka State Park. The Casements is the former winter home of John D. Rockefeller. The Casements serves as a cultural experience offering classes, exhibits, events and meeting places for all ages. Tomoka State Park offers a wide range of things to do such as camping, boating, canoeing, fishing, picnic areas, wildlife and nature trails.
On the south side of Daytona Beach is Daytona Beach Shores, a relatively new community formed in 1960 that stretches for five and a half miles along the Atlantic Ocean. At the southern tip is a fishing village called Ponce Inlet. Here there are local charter fishing boats as well as some of the best seafood restaurants.
In the centre of it all is Daytona Beach. This is the best known area among all the communities. It has been made famous as the "World Centre of Racing" as it is the home of NASCAR. This is also where the Daytone Beach International Speedway is located. However, the white, sandy stretch of beach is still the most popularly known attraction. In addition to this, there is still the Ocean Centre convention complex, the new LPGA golf course, the USTA tennis centre, and the Halifax Harbor Marina.
There are so many water sports to enjoy at Daytona Beach! These include surfing, parasailing, boating, airboat rides, and kayaking. Daytona Beach also offers a huge variety of sightseeing tours and activities. You can spend time parasailing over the Atlantic Ocean or cruising along the inland waterways.
There are many things to see and do if you need to take a break from spending time at the water. The choices are endless from visiting a historic lighthouse, taking haunted tours, visiting botanical gardens, or seeing where the Speed Park was created. There are also go-kart tracks, miniature golf, and the planetarium. Beyond all of that is ice skating, bingo, and indoor football.
Whether you are going on spring break or a family vacation, Daytona Beach is sure to have something for everyone!
